The Story
From a kid with a speech impediment to the man people call to connect a room.
Robert W. Jones grew up shy — and not "a little quiet" shy. A clinical speech impediment made talking in front of people the last thing he would ever choose to do. Then he joined the United States Marine Corps.
Six years in the Corps gave him the discipline. Two missions of service after it gave him the why. A run through the technology side of real estate, financial services, and nutraceuticals — on the launch team at Realtor.com, a two-time National Sales Award winner at Chanel, marketing-director roles at growing companies — gave him the operator's eye.
Then, in 2009, he started a small networking group in Queen Creek, Arizona, on one stubborn idea: relationships create community, and commerce follows. Fifteen years later that group is the iNETrepreneur Network — chapters across Arizona and California, a publishing house, a magazine, an academy, a radio show, and an annual global summit. The kid who couldn't get a sentence out now hosts the room.
